This day was a special day for me to see my lovely friends Dan & Sam get married at the Queendom Gardens in Silverdale just 40min outside of Auckland. I had the privilege to not only work with Samantha at the YMCA for a few years but I also got to shoot their engagement photos on the North Shore in Auckland.
When it came to planning my role in this event I had a few nervous jitters. The ceremony began at 3pm and sunset was at 5pm which made it a tight schedule for a photographer to capture group photos and a photo-shoot with only 1 hour of light. However all nervousness aside, the day worked out wonderfully!
To be honest I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful assistant Joanna Rakoroi (who’s decided to leave the country in 2 weeks time), she knew how to step in when needed and help arrange peoples positions, settle my farm, take photos AND keep a smile on her face – thanks Jo!
This beautiful sunny winters day could be described as a “good ol kiwi wedding”.
A small two speaker boom box, a grassy knoll, a lake, friends and family and nice wander down the hill to the smiling groomsman is what the lovely bride and groom were after for their ceremony.
From the get go the bride and bridesmaids were pretty relaxed. While one gets their hair done and the other their make up, the ladies were pretty chilled out with their magazines, champagne and the morning sunlight to bathe in.
This photo below is one of my favorites – the groomsmen all had cufflinks according the their favorite superhero, so I thought capturing them in their heroic poses was a given.
Thanks for inviting the team to capture your special day Daniel & Samantha Evers!
