First Adventure of 2015!

Over New Years this year, a bunch of my mates (20-25 people) and I, thought we’d get a little adventurous and climb The Pinnacles (Coromandel) and spend New Years Eve up in the hut located an hour from the peak.

Stairs, stairs, stairs… that could’ve been the only thing to say about the trekk, but the landscape was beautiful! The colours, the bird calls, the reverberating echos when calling out your name towards the mountains *sigh*… it was glorious!

It was my first time having to hike with an overnight pack and the slow digging into my shoulders wasn’t something to forget, but it was worth it!

I took my 600d with me (didn’t have the guts to take my brand new 6d) and got a few snaps. Near the end you’ll see photos of some of the friends I trekked up with (yes you can make them your DP if you’d like), other than that most of the shots are of the landscape, and i’m afraid these pictures doesn’t do The Pinnacles justice! But after this hike, I have an itching to do more, so keep an ear out for other kiwi adventures!

My dear friend Frankie came up to me the other day and said “i’m due quite soon, any chance of doing a pregnancy photoshoot?”, I smiled and let out a loud laugh “of course!”

On the day of the shoot, Auckland wasn’t putting on a great show with the weather. In the space of 8 hours it was rainy, cloudy, spitty, sunny, rainy, cloudy, spitty, sunny etc. This happened too often to predict if it would hold out for the shoot, however we made a call to go for it and I’m quite glad we did! The rain held out and the weather/light was perfect!

It was such a delight to do a photoshoot with Frankie and her husband Charlie! They brought some fabulous props and I finally got to play with one of the laced umbrellas I recently purchased! Everything looked great! I even lost track of time because we were having way too much fun! Turned up late to a birthday party, sorry Jessie & Leela.

These two are just TOO cute, imagine what their little boy is going to look like?!

Anywho, enjoy the photos and all the best to the mum and dad to be. I hope all goes well when baby Meaden is welcomed to the world!
