Last weekend my family and I took a trip to Matamata to see my Aunty and her partner get wed. The weather decided to turn a storm against us, but that didn’t stop the Dougherty Family from celebrating! Marquee tents, tarpaulin, rain coats, winter coats, blankets and hot tea… nothing could stop us having a grand old time supporting Janet & Rewi on their special day.

Before this shoot even began I knew it would be a special one! Baby Josh’s Mama got in touch with me while she was still pregnant and booked in a newborn shoot for the 21st March. When the date came and passed without any communication from the family, I wasn’t sure what to think. Then I received an email at 5am the following day from Mama Harris apologising that she wasn’t in contact…because she was in labour the night before! Now that’s dedication! Right then I knew that I was going to love doing this shoot, and capturing this little family’s love in photos. Baby Josh has parents who love him very dearly…parents that were out there planning and getting things ready for him before he was even born!
Baby Josh was only 9 days old when we took these shots. Look at his cute little face! So precious. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them 😉
